A coin collector since 1996, John retired in 1995 from a successful career in the metal finishing industry (electroplating). He had been approached by quite a few of his friends who had suggested that he open a coin shop in Grass Valley. After careful consideration and research, he determined that there was a need for a quality numismatic and bullion store, especially one that presented and provided a fair and friendly atmosphere. He opened Sierra Gold & Coin on November 13, 2010 and the rest is history. Now, the shop enjoys a large, loyal client base who acknowledge that John's shop is the place to go for great selection, competitive pricing and best of all, straight, knowledgeable conversation.

Deb moved to Grass Valley with her family in 1973 where she attended and graduated from Nevada Union High School. She continued her education and received an AA degree from Sierra College, as well as a Teaching Credential from Chico State.

Deb is an avid outdoor enthusiast which includes gold panning, enjoying Nevada County's many rivers and gardening. She is a proud military parent whose son is currently serving in our Armed Forces.

These policies are accessed continually for our clients and our needs.

Business Policy

You will always find that our prices are competitive and fair. There are no hidden fees and every transaction is thoroughly explained beforehand to every client.

The security of your information is paramount to us. Any or all data received shall always be safe and secure. No information concerning a client will be sold or otherwise transferred without the written consent of the client.

Our selection of Silver and Gold Bullion bars and coins changes daily. We will always endeavor to maintain a great selection for our clients. We also have a large collection of slabbed (certified) coins as well as a large selection of raw (not slabbed) coins and currency.

We will provide our customers with the utmost personal service no matter how large or small the transaction. You will always receive helpful, friendly and knowledgeable service.

Your satisfaction is our primary goal.

We do not appraise or give opinions on items without being able to view and conduct an inspection at our place of business. We, also, do not make any offers on items without seeing them. Further, it is not possible to give fair and accurate quotes over the phone especially when it concerns bullion as this changes by the minute on any given day.
